2 pair of Footies Completed

I've been so consumed with Ravelry that posting everywhere else has come second but I wanted to display me and the DD #2's Walking on the Wild Tide footies from STR Club '07. The original pattern is what my daughter's footies are knitted in. For mine I just used a rib pattern on the top of the foot. I really like this yarn and will definitely be buying some of this for future use. I have to admit that I hadn't been doing so well with the whole short row method but with my daughter's socks I came across http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/2mlsocks_heel.htm
and have felt more confident with the short-row method. I also knit my footies using the Magic Loop method from the toe up. I still have to work on getting my bind-off tension correct but overall I'm happy with both newly aquired techniques.

Great socks! I used to knit and crochet quite a bit when I lived in a climate where I could wear knitted clothing more often. I never tried socks, but I made quite a few pairs of mittens, tons of different hats, a multitude of scarves, and a few sweater vests. I was married to 2 TV-watchers. I crocheted to stay awake. LOL. Now I don't watch TV at all, so my handcrafts have changed. Take care, K.

And also, many stylish purses-- forgot that. It was the 1970s, after all, and that homemade look was in. Now people buy the homemade look at Target or Macy's. I guess this is due to the demise of Home Economics in the schools. ;-)
